GWU's Daniel Kim Post a Top-Five Finish at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate

Morganton, N.C. - Gardner-Webb senior Daniel Kim posted a top-five finish, as the Runnin' Bulldogs finished 16th overall in the team standings at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate hosted by Appalachian State at the par-70, 6,718-yards Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club in Morganton, N.C.
In what was inclement weather for most of the two-day event, Gardner-Webb turned in team rounds of 294, 309 and 303 to finish with a three-round combined score of 906, +66.
Kim led the Runnin' Bulldogs on all three days, as he carded rounds of 70, 73 and 68 to finish in a tie for fourth-place overall with a combined tournament score of 211, +1. Kim registered eight birdies overall.
Sophomore Matt Yelverton and freshman Clement Kurniawan each finished in a tie for 70th-place overall with their scores of 233, +23. Yelverton turned in rounds of 76, 78 and 79 for his 233, +23, while Kurniawan recorded rounds of 74, 79 and 80 for the two-day event.
Rounding out the competitors for GWU was Arron Price and Daley Byles. Price shot a two-day score of 236, +26, to finish in a tie at 79th-place, while Byles posted rounds of 74, 79 and 84 to come in 81st-place overall with a combined score of 237, +27.
Lynn posted a first-place team win with a combined score of 854, +14, while James Madison came in second-place with a score of 855, +15, one of the lead. Wofford finished third (860, +20), while High Point (867, +27) and Elon (874, +34) rounded out the top-five.
Chase Wilson of High Point (208, -2 under par) earned the individual win, as he edged out Casey Komline of Appalachian State (209, -1 under par) by one stroke.
The Gardner-Webb men's golf team will be in action this Saturday, October 20th, as the men's team will team up with the women's team to compete at the GWU vs. High Point Duals at The Patriot Golf Club in Ninety-Six, S.C.
