GWU Men's Golf Finishes 11th at the Pinetree Intercollegiate

Kennesaw, Ga. - The Gardner-Webb men's golf team posted an 11th-place finish after 54 holes of play at the Pinetree Intercollegiate hosted by Kennesaw State at the par 72, 7,108-yards Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga.
Gardner-Webb as a team carded rounds of 314, 312 and 316 to finish in 11th-place overall in the team standings with a three-round combined team score of 942, +78.
For the fifth straight event, senior Daniel Kim led the Runnin' Bulldogs, this time placing in a tie for 10th-place overall. Kim carded rounds of 75, 74 and 76 to finish with a two-day combined score of 225, +9. Kim's three rounds were the Runnin' Bulldogs' lowest three rounds of the tournament.
Redshirt-junior Daley Byles finished in a tie for 46th-place overall, turning in rounds of 79, 79 and 78 to post a combined score of 236, +20, while sophomore Matt Yelverton shot an 86, 78 and 76 to come in 60th-place overall with his score of 240, +24.
GWU senior Arron Price and freshman Clement Kurniawan rounded out the players for the Runnin' Bulldogs, as Price posted rounds of 77, 81 and 86 for a combined score of 244, +28, and Kurniawan registered rounds of 83, 81 and 91 to shoot a combined three-round score of 255, +39.
The host institution, Kennesaw State, earned the team win with a team score of 860, -4 under par, taking first-place overall by 16 strokes ahead of the second-place Ball State Cardinals (884, +20).
The Owls took the top-three spots overall individually led by Jimmy Beck's first-place finish with a three-round combined score of 209, -7 under par.
The Gardner-Webb men's golf team will wrap up its 2012 Fall season in two weeks, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will tee-off at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate hosted by Western Carolina on November 3-4.
