GWU Men's Soccer To Wrap Up the 2012 Regular Season this Week at Home Versus PC and Campbell

Boiling Spring, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb men's soccer team will wrap up its 2012 regular season slate this week, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will host Presbyterian College on Wednesday night, October 31st, at 7 p.m., before playing its final home game of the year on Saturday afternoon, November 3rd, at 4 p.m. versus Campbell.
Gardner-Webb (3-12-2, 2-4-2 Big South) has gone winless over its last five matches after falling to Winthrop, 2-1, in double overtime last Wednesday night, and then playing Liberty to a 0-0 double overtime draw on Saturday afternoon in Lynchburg, Va.
The Runnin' Bulldogs have played seven overtime or double overtime matches this season, the most in a single season since the 2006 team played in six overtime contests.
On Wednesday night, Halloween night, the Runnin' Bulldogs will take on PC at 7 p.m. in a key match up in terms of the Big South regular season standings, as both teams are looking to secure themselves a spot in next week's 2012 Big South Men's Soccer Championship Tournament.
GWU is in seventh-place overall, while Presbyterian sits just outside the eighth spot in ninth overall. A win by either team will push them into seventh-place overall, while the loser could find themselves left out of the postseason tournament.
Gardner-Webb is only 8-11-1 versus Presbyterian all-time in men's soccer action, yet has won the last four meetings against the Blue Hose on the pitch, all of which have come in Big South Conference play.
On Saturday afternoon, the regular season finale, the Runnin' Bulldogs will host the Campbell Fighting Camels at 4 p.m. on "Senior Day", as GWU will recognize its seniors prior to the match.
Campbell (11-5-1, 6-3 Big South) is coming off a 5-1 home win over UNC Asheville last Saturday night and have won four out of its last five matches with the lone loss coming at nationally ranked North Carolina.
GWU is only 2-7-1 versus the Fighting Camels all-time, while Campbell has won the last three meetings between these two teams, since GWU's last win in the series came back in 2006.
