GWU's Reinhardsen, Thomas and Davis Earn Big South Men's Soccer Postseason Honors

Charlotte, N.C. - For the fourth straight year, redshirt-senior Jon Ole Reinhardsen earned Big South Conference honors, while newcomer Lyssean Thomas and junior Chris Davis were named to the Big South All-Freshman Team and the Big South All-Academic Team, respectively, the League office announced on Monday afternoon.
Reinhardsen was named to the Big South All-Conference Second-Team for the second-time in his four-year career at GWU, as the co-captain played in and started all 19 matches for GWU in the defensive backline. This season, the Norwegian has accounted for two game-winning goals on the year, posting the two game-winning goal in back-to-back conference wins over VMI and UNC Asheville. Reinhardsen has been the leader of the GWU defense that has five shutouts on the season, all in Big South action, yet also leads the team with 11 shots on goal from his defensive position. Reinhardsen, who also has one assist on the year that came in the 3-0 win over PC, is now a two-time Big South All-Conference First-Team selection (2011 & 2010) and a two-time Big South All-Conference Second-Team honoree (2012 & 2009).
Thomas, a freshman midfielder from Douglasville, Ga., has started and played in 17 matches in the midfield for GWU, making his first collegiate start in the season opener at No. 1North Carolina. Thomas, who has totaled over 1,340 minutes on the field this season for GWU, has tallied three shots on the season and put one on goal. The speedy midfielder recorded a shot versus Georgia Southern, at #23 Dayton and at home against Radford.
For the second straight year, Davis earned a spot on the Big South All-Academic Team for his work both on the field and in the classroom. Davis, who was named to the 2011 Big South All-Conference Second-Team and the 2010 Big South All-Freshmen Team, is on track to graduate in three years with a degree in Psychology. Davis, who has a cumulative 3.6348 cumulative grade point average during his time at GWU, is taking a total of 21 hours this semester to graduate early. On the field in 2012, Davis has scored one goal this season and posted one assist. In his career at GWU, Davis has totaled 11 goals and five assists in his three years at GWU.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will take on No. 2 Radford in the Quarterfinals of the 2012 Big South Men's Soccer Championship Tournament on Tuesday night, November 6th, at 6 p.m. in Radford, Va.
