
GWU Basketball Partnering with the American Red Cross to Take Donations for Hurricane Sandy Victims

Boiling Springs, N.C. - This weekend, on both Friday and Saturday nights, the Gardner-Webb basketball programs, along with the Gardner-Webb athletics department, will be accepting donations to give to the American Red Cross for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
American Red Cross volunteers, as well as GWU staff members, will be available at both entrances of Paul Porter Arena for Friday night's women's basketball game at 7 p.m. versus Lipscomb and Saturday night's men's basketball game at 7:30 p.m. versus Covenant.
All donations will go directly to the American Red Cross in aid of the victims of Hurricane Sandy, which destroyed and devastated much of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast states.
American Red Cross: The humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. Mobilizing disaster workers, emergency vehicles, shelters and relief supplies to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast states.
