
Gardner-Webb Wrestlers to Compete at the CSU Open

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb wrestling team will step away from dual match action for the rest of the 2012 calendar year, as a number of GWU wrestlers will compete this Saturday, December 15th, at the CSU Open hosted by Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Runnin' Bulldogs could have up to 24 wrestlers, both attached and unattached, compete on Saturday at the CSU Open.
GWU was last in action on December 4th, as the Runnin' Bulldog grapplers suffered a tough 21-19 dual match loss to Appalachian State in Southern Conference action in Boone, N.C.
Despite posting five wins out of the 10 contests, Gardner-Webb was edged by the Mountaineers 21-19 in Southern Conference dual match action. GWU picked up a fall by Travis Porter at 285 pounds and a major decision victory by Alex Medved at 157 pounds, but was ultimately hurt by a forfeit at 149 pounds.
Gardner-Webb has been on a break from competition due to the fall semester final exams.
