
GWU Grapplers to Compete at the Brute Invitational

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb wrestling team will have a number of individuals compete at the Brute Invitational hosted by Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, Pa. on Saturday, December 29th.
Gardner-Webb will have up to 12 wrestlers compete at the open invitational event, which will consist of wrestlers from all over the Northeast including from institutions such as Binghamton, Bloomsburg, Buffalo, Pitt, Drexel, Franklin & Marshall, George Mason, Kent State, Lock Haven, Old Dominion and VMI.
The Brute Invitational will be the sixth and final open invitational for the Runnin' Bulldog wrestlers this season, as a number of GWU grapplers have already competed this year at The Citadel Open, the Hokie Open, the Wolfpack Open, the King College Open and the CSU Open.
GWU last competed on December 15th at the CSU Open in Cleveland, Ohio, in which GWU had three grapplers place overall in their respective weight classes and a total of 12 wrestlers record multiple wins on the day. Alex Medved took second-place at the 157-pound weight class, Blake Salyer earned a third-place showing at 197 pounds and sophomore Justin Kozera finished fifth overall at 285 pounds at the one-day event.
