SERIES VS. LONGWOOD
Gardner-Webb leads the overall series between the two teams at 5-2, with four of those wins coming since 2000-01, when the Runnin' Bulldogs transitioned to the NCAA Division I level. GWU is a perfect 4-0 at home versus the Longwood Lancers all-time. This is the fourth straight season these two teams have met on the hardwood in non-conference action.
CONFERENCE FOES BUT A NON-CONFERENCE GAME
Even though Longwood is the newest member of the Big South Conference this season, as the Lancers joined the League in the summer of 2012, Sunday's afternoon game is a non-conference match up.
The two teams' already had Sunday's game scheduled prior to the Lancers joining the League this summer.
The two teams' lone conference showdown this season will come on January 3rd, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will take on the Lancers in Farmville, Va. at 7 p.m.
HOME SWEET HOME IN PAUL PORTER ARENA
GWU is a 4-1 at home this season in 2012-13, but is coming off a 65-62 home loss to Coastal Carolina on December 1st. Gardner-Webb is 74-38 at home in Paul Porter Arena since head coach Rick Reeves came to Boiling Springs, N.C. in 2004-05.
DOMINATING THE PAINT
GWU is averaging 41 points per game from the paint area on the year and is averaging 47.3 points per game down low in its four wins. In fact, the Runnin' Bulldogs have outscored its opponents 287-146 thus far this season, a difference of 141 points.
GWU WILL WELCOME DAVIDSON TO BOILING SPRINGS ON DEC. 13
Gardner-Webb will remain at home to host the Davidson Wildcats on December 13th at 7 p.m. in Paul Porter Arena. Thursday night's non-conference game will wrap up the Runnin' Bulldogs' current four-game home stretch.
