
GWU Women's Golf Opens Up 2012 Spring Season in Wofford Tri Match

Spartanburg, S.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's golf team teed-off its 2012 spring season on Tuesday, February 21st, as the Runnin' Bulldogs competed against both Wofford and Appalachian State in the Wofford Tri Match at the par 72, 5972 yards Country Club of Spartanburg Golf Course in Spartanburg, S.C.
The Runnin' Bulldogs combined to shoot a team score of 329, finishing 15 strokes behind the winner Wofford (314) and one stroke behind Appalachian State (328).
Leading the pack for the Runnin' Bulldogs was junior Meghan Allum who carded a round of 77, +5, which placed her in a tie for third-place overall individually.
Fellow juniors Hannah Hellyer and Lauren Smith carded rounds of 82, +10, and 84, +12, respectively, while senior Courtney Finocchiaro and junior Sammy Vass each posted a round of 86, +14.
Playing as individuals for the one-day event, sophomore Pilar Morgan turned in a round of 80, +8, while junior Brianna Clemmons posted a round of 91, +19, on Tuesday.
Wofford's Alex Hendricks and Lauren Dunbar finished first and second with respective scores of 75, +3, and 76, +4.
Gardner-Webb will return to action on March 3rd, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will compete at the High Point Women's Spring Break Classic in St. Augustine, Fla.
