Gardner-Webb Women's Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA Scholar Athlete Designation

New Orleans, La. - Gardner-Webb's women's cross country team earned a spot on the list of 205 Scholar Athlete team of the year recipients, announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, for the 2011 competition season.
The Runnin' Bulldog ladies were one of four Big South teams (CCU, HPU, LU, GWU) to earn the USTFCCCA honor.
Georgetown, the NCAA champion for 2011, took home the National Scholar Athlete team of the year distinction.
Gardner-Webb, which earned an 8th place finish at 2011 Big South Women's Cross Country Championships, posted a combined 3.09 GPA during the fall semester.
