Sophomore Carson Sears Earns Big South Male Field Athlete of the Week Honors

Charlotte, N.C. - For the second time in three weeks, Gardner-Webb sophomore Carson Sears has been named the Big South's Male Field Athlete of the Week.
Sears, a sophomore from Suwanee, Ga., set the Gardner-Webb standard in the hammer throw at the South Carolina Invitational over the weekend. His mark of 211' 6" was good for sixth-place in the event and No. 4 in the NCAA East Region. Sears is ranked No. 6 in the NCAA in the event.
Gardner-Webb track & field heads to Rock Hill, S.C. this weekend, March 29-31, for the Winthrop Invitational.
