
GWU Pitcher Cindy Boomhower Tabbed the Big South Softball Pitcher of the Week

Charlotte, N.C. - Gardner-Webb's Cindy Boomhower (Walhalla, S.C.) has received The Crons Brand Pitcher of the Week honor for games played April 9-15th, it was announced today by the Conference office.
Boomhower went 2-0 with a save in 13.2 innings pitched last week as Gardner-Webb went 3-2. In Gardner-Webb's 2-0 win over Charlotte, Boomhower pitched a scoreless seventh to earn her third save of the year.
In a 5-2 come-from-behind win over Winthrop in game two on April 14th; Boomhower entered the game in the second inning with a 2-0 deficit. The redshirt-senior held the Lady Eagles scoreless over the next 5.2 innings of play, scattering only four hits, while striking out two to earn the win.
On Sunday, Boomhower again came out of the bullpen to earn the win, as she pitched 3.2 innings of scoreless ball to help the Runnin' Bulldogs earn the 3-2 win.
Boomhower's line last week: 4 APP., 2-0, 1 Sv., 1.02 ERA, 13.2 IP, 14 H, 2 R/ER, 2 BB, 6 SO.
The weekly award is the redshirt-senior's second of the season, as she was also named the Big South Pitcher of the Week on March 12th.
