
Yelverton and the Men's Golf Team Lead After Two Rounds at the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate

Florence, S.C. - The Gardner-Webb men's golf team had three players finish in the top-10 on day one of the 28th-annual Raines Development Group Intercollegiate on Monday at the Country Club of South Carolina hosted by Francis Marion University.
The Runnin' Bulldogs carded a first round 283 and a second round 281 to finish day one in front by four strokes with a combined two round team score of 564, -12 under par.
Sophomore Matt Yelverton posted rounds of 69 and 67 to finish day one in a tie for first-place overall with a two round combined score of 136, -8 under par.
Right behind Yelverton on the leaderboard is senior Daniel Kim, who sits in a tie for third-place overall with his two rounds of 70 and 68 on Monday, giving him a combined two round score of 138, -6 under par, heading into the final round of play on Tuesday.
Redshirt-junior Daley Byles posted rounds of 69 and 73 to finish day one of play with a combined score of 142, -2 under par, placing him in a tie at 10th-place overall.
Freshman Clement Kurniawan rounded out the scoring for the Runnin' Bulldogs on Monday, as he turned in a first round 75 and a second round 73 to put himself in a tie for 45th-place overall with a combined two round score of 148, +3, while junior Steven Jones shot a combined two round score of 151, +7, to finish day one in a tie at 63rd-place.
The Runnin' Bulldogs are four strokes ahead of Old Dominion, who is in second-place with a team score of 568, -8 under par, while Georgia College is in third-place with a two round combined team score of 570, -6 under par.
The third and final round of play will tee-off tomorrow morning at the Country Club of South Carolina in Florence, S.C.
