GWU's Kim and Yelverton Finish Tied for First, as the Runnin' Bulldogs Win the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate

Florence, S.C. - Gardner-Webb senior Daniel Kim and sophomore Matt Yelverton both finished in a tie for first-place overall, as the men's golf team won the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate by four strokes in the Runnin' Bulldogs 2012 fall opener.
Gardner-Webb carded team rounds of 283, 281 and 286 to finish with a three-round combined team score of 850, -14 under par, placing the Runnin' Bulldogs four strokes ahead of Georgia College, who finished in second-place with a team score of 854, -10 under par.
Kim and Yelverton were co-medalists, along with Jamison Randall of Old Dominion, as the three finished in a three-way tie for first-place with a tournament low three-round combined score of 209, -7 under par.
Kim carded rounds of 70, 68 and 71 to get his score of 209, while Yelverton, who led after day one of play on Monday, turned in rounds of 69, 67 and 73 to post his three-round combined score of 209, -7 under par.
Redshirt-junior Daley Byles finished just outside the top-15 for the tournament, as the lefty posted rounds of 69, 73 and 73 to finish in a tie at 16th-place overall with a three-round combined score of 215, -1 under par.
Rounding out the scoring for GWU was freshman Clement Kurniawan, who finished in a tie at 23rd-place overall with his three rounds of 75, 73 and 69 to give him a three-round combined score of 217, +1, in his first intercollegiate tournament.
Junior Steven Jones recorded a three-round combined score of 226, +10, to finish in a tie for 60th-place overall for the two-day event.
GWU will look to make it two tournament wins in a row next week, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will compete at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate on September 15-16th in Chapel Hill, N.C.
