GWU (2-7, 1-1) is coming off a 1-0 win over Coastal Carolina in which sophomore keeper Amy Schmitt (Waxhaw, N.C.) led the Runnin' Bulldog defense to pitch their second shutout of the season and freshman forward Shelby Hooe (Mechanicsville, Va.) scored her third goal of the season as well as her second game-winner.
Thursday, Gardner-Webb will be taking on a Campbell team that is playing at a high level thus far in 2012. The Fighting Camels (6-2-1, 0-1) boast non-conference wins over East Carolina, Marshall, Louisiana-Lafayette, and Western Carolina. Campbell, led by sophomore forward Ashley Clark's eight goals as well as redshirt senior keeper Ryan Torrero's three shutouts on the season, is coming off a 3-0 loss at Radford prior to defeating VMI 2-0 on the road.
On Saturday, the Runnin' Bulldogs will go on the road in Big South play for the first time this season, traveling to High Point for a bout with a gritty Panthers squad. High Point (2-4-5, 1-0-1) knocked off Apalachian State on the road earlier this season and has fought to draws with Elon, VCU, and Radford this season.
