
McClay Paces Gardner-Webb at NCAA Southeast Cross Country Regionals

Earlysville, Va. - Four Gardner-Webb runners competed at the 2013 NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Cross Country Meet held on November 15 and hosted by the University of Virginia.
Freshman Jenna Ford (Wasilla, Alaska) competed in the women's 6K run, starting fast to cross the finish line at 24:27.3. Ford has finished as GWU's top female runner in each meet this season.
Claire Cates (Hillsborough, N.C.) recorded a time of 25:14.9 in the women's 6K race on Friday, capping a sophomore campaign in which she set personal bests in all of her primary events.
Senior Mike McClay (Lawrenceville, Ga.) improved on his 10K time from 2012, running the course in 27:23.9. McClay led Gardner-Webb in each meet of the 2013 season, and represented the Runnin' Bulldogs' top runner in each meet of his four-year collegiate career.
Fellow senior Drew Ford (Wasilla, Alaska) also competed at Southeast Regionals on Friday. Ford raced to a time of 30:41.1 in the 10K
