GWU's Dodson and Henderson Posts Top-10 Finishes at the Winthrop Intercollegiate

Rock Hill, S.C. - Gardner-Webb freshmen Taylor Dodson and Julia Henderson each posted a top-10 finish to lead the women's golf team to a fourth-place team finish at the par-72, 6,044 yards, Winthrop Intercollegiate hosted by Winthrop University at the Rock Hill Country Club in Rock Hill, S.C.
Gardner-Webb turned in rounds of 330 and 312 to finish with a two-round combined score of 642, +66, to finish in fourth-place overall, five strokes behind the third-place finisher in Eastern Kentucky (637, +61) and 17 strokes behind the tournament champion in Boise State (625, +49).
Dodson, who finished in a four-way tie for second-place overall, led the Runnin' Bulldogs with rounds of 79 and 74 to finish with a 36-hole score of 153, +9. The second-place finish is Dodson's third top-five finish of the 2013 fall season.
After shooting the best 54-hole score of her young career last time out, Henderson followed with rounds of 81 and 78 to finish in a tie at ninth-place overall with her two-round combined score of 159, +15.
Sophomore Mary Katherine Donovan posted rounds of 88 and 79 to finish in a tie at 26th-place overall with her combined score of 167, +23, while freshman Sarah Bertram carded scores of 89 and 81 to place in 32nd-place overall with her score of 170, +26.
Rounding out the lineup for the Runnin' Bulldogs was freshman Courtney Yanch, as the newcomer posted rounds of 82 and 91 to finish in a tie for 36th-place overall.
Senior Pilar Morgan and sophomore Tessy Tuschen, who both played as individuals at the event, finished in 33rd and 45th-place overall, respectively, as Morgan turned in rounds of 80 and 91 for a score of 171, +27, and Tuschen posted rounds of 94 and 89 for a score of 183, +39.
The two-day weekend tournament wrapped up the 2013 fall slate for the Gardner-Webb women's golf team.
