Boiling Springs, N.C. - On October 6, 2012,
Gardner-Webb men's soccer head coach Tony
Setzer was recognized prior to the Runnin' Bulldogs home soccer
match with VMI for his 25 years of service and dedication to
Gardner-Webb University as the men's soccer head coach.
Setzer was given a plaque from the Gardner-Webb Athletics
Department recognizing his many highlights throughout his time at
the helm of the men's soccer program. However, what was not only a
surprise to Coach Setzer, but to many, was that Associate Head
Coach Tyler
Kettering had enlisted both current and former soccer players
for their help in getting a special gift for their head coach's
silver anniversary.
That gift would be two round trip tickets, for both Coach Setzer
and his wife Kristen, to London, England where the Setzer's would
receive tickets to a Chelsea FC soccer match versus the Arsenal FC,
as well as special access behind the scenes for an inside look at
Chelsea's locker room, trophy room and a jersey signing.
"Both Kristen and I truly enjoyed ourselves," Setzer stated.
"The whole trip and experience was truly amazing and we cannot
thank TK (Tyler Kettering), Mr. Swaby (Craig
Swaby's father) and the entire Gardner-Webb men's soccer family
enough for what was an unbelievable gift."
