BOILING SPRINGS - Sunday's baseball at John Henry Moss Stadium /
Bill Masters Field between Gardner-Webb and Dayton has been
canceled due to poor field conditions caused by snow and ice.
Gardner-Webb topped Dayton in the opener, 8-3, Friday and the two
teams were locked in a scoreless tie in the top of the sixth
Saturday before a heavy dose of snow limited visibility to
unplayable levels and forced the teams to move action to
Sunday.
With Sunday's canceled games, Saturday's result goes in the books
as a scoreless tie and stats revert back to the previous completed
inning.
With overnight temperatures dropping into the low-20s, field
conditions turned from poor to frozen by Sunday morning and the
decision was made to cancel the remaining action.
Gardner-Webb (1-0-1) will hit the road for the first time on
Wednesday, traveling to face Furman in Greenville, S.C.
