
GWU Women's Golf Will Head South to Compete in the Low Country Intercollegiate

Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's golf team will look to post its second straight top-five team finish next week, as the lady golfers will take part in the 2013 Low Country Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford College on March 24-25th in Hilton Head, S.C.
The two-day, 36 hole event will be held at the par 72, 2991-yards South Course at the Moss Creek Golf Club and will consist of a 16-team field which will include Wofford, The Citadel, Presbyterian, Gardner-Webb, Radford, Western Kentucky, USC Upstate, Princeton, South Carolina State, Western Carolina, Appalachian State, Akron, Ursuline, Dartmouth, Brown and DePaul.
The Runnin' Bulldogs, who are coming off a fifth-place team finish at C&F Bank Intercollegiate on March 17-19th, will send six players in Meghan Allum, Lauren Smith, Sammy Vass, Hannah Hellyer, Pilar Morgan and Mary Katherine Donovan to the Low Country Intercollegiate with one player participating as an individual.
Allum has paced Gardner-Webb in each of its first two springs tournaments so far this season, including a third-place finish last week at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate, while both Smith and Vass have posted back-to-back top-20 finishes this spring.
Both Morgan and Donovan will be competing in their third event this spring, while Hellyer will return to the links for the Runnin' Bulldogs after missing the last event one week ago.
Last year, the Runnin' Bulldogs finished in fifth-place overall at the 2012 Low Country Intercollegiate posting rounds of 320 and 319 to finish with a combined score of 639, +63.
