GWU's Jones and Kim Post Top-10 Finishes at Davidson College Invitational

Davidson, N.C. - Gardner-Webb junior Steven Jones and senior Daniel Kim each posted top-10 finishes individually overall to help lead the Runnin' Bulldogs to a third-place team finish at the Davidson College Invitational held at the par-72, 7,208-yards River Run Country Club in Davidson, N.C.
The Runnin' Bulldogs finished in a three-way tie for third-place overall with a combined score of 608, +32, alongside of Radford and Elon. GWU as a team carded rounds of 300 and 308 on the two-day, 36-hole event.
Jones recorded his best performance of the young spring season, as he turned in rounds of 72 and 75 to finish in a tie for third-place overall with a combined two round score of 147, +3.
Kim, who had been the leader heading into the clubhouse in all seven tournaments for the Runnin' Bulldogs this season, carded back-to-back rounds of 75, +3, to place in a tie for sixth-place overall with a combined score of 150, +6.
Sophomore Matt Yelverton posted rounds of 78 and 76 to finish in a tie at 24th-place overall with his two-day score of 154, +10, while freshman Elki Kow came in at 42nd-place with his two round combined score of 160, +16.
Wrapping up play for the Runnin' Bulldogs this week was redshirt-junior Daley Byles who finished with a combined score of 164, +20, to finish in a tie for 50th-place overall.
The host Davidson College took first-place overall in the team standings with a combined two round team score of 596, even par, while Wildcat Sam Echikson took first-place overall with a combined score of 145, +1.
GWU will return to the links to take part in the General Hackler Championship hosted by Coastal Carolina in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on March 11-12th.
