Gardner-Webb Earns the No. 4 Seed in the 2013 Big South Women's Golf Championship Presented by Musco Sports Lighting

Charlotte, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's golf team has secured the No. 4 seed in next week's 2013 Big South Women's Golf Championship presented by Musco Sports Lighting hosted by Presbyterian College at The Patriot Golf Club in Ninety-Six, S.C.
The Runnin' Bulldog golf team earned the No. 4 seed with its current GolfStat national ranking of 125.
Campbell University, the defending champions, secured the No. 1 seed based on its current GolfStat national ranking of 34, the highest among the nine Big South women's golf programs.
Coastal Carolina, last year's runner-up, is ranked No. 39 in the nation by GolfStat and receives the No. 2 seed. New Big South member Longwood is the No. 3 seed with its ranking of 112.
Winthrop, ranked No. 133, will be the No. 5 seed in the championship, with Charleston Southern (147) receiving the No. 6 seed. High Point receives the No. 7 seed (No. 171), just ahead of Radford (No. 8 -- 180). Host Presbyterian College, which is eligible for the championship for the first time, rounds out the field at No. 9 (196).
The Patriot Club is hosting the Big South Women's Golf Championship for the seventh time, with this year being the sixth consecutive appearance.
The 2013 Big South Women's Golf Championship presented by Musco Sports Lighting begins this weekend with a practice round on Saturday, April 13. The three-day, 54-hole event will be played April 14-16 and is free and open to the public.
In addition, fans can follow the action online via GolfStat's "Live Scoring" feature.
The 2013 champion will receive the Big South's automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals.

Meanwhile, the Big South Women's Golf Awards Banquet will be held Monday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. The 2013 annual award winners and the All-Conference and All-Academic teams will be announced at that time. The top-five finishers (and any ties) in the Conference Championship will comprise the All-Championship team.
