Gardner-Webb Receives the No. 5 Seed at Next Week's 2013 Big South Men's Golf Championship

Charlotte, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb men's golf team will receive the No. 5 seed at next week's 2013 Big South Men's Golf Championship hosted by Gardner-Webb University at The Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor in Ninety Six, S.C.
The Runnin' Bulldogs has garnered the No. 5 seed with its national GolfStat ranking of No. 159.
Liberty University has earned the No. 1 seed in next week's Big South Men's Golf Championship, as the two-time defending champion Flames receive the No. 1 seed based on its current GolfStat national ranking of 39, the highest among the 10 Big South men's golf programs.
Coastal Carolina is ranked No. 52 in the nation by GolfStat and receives the No. 2 seed, ahead of No. 3 seed Winthrop, which is ranked No. 92 in the country. Radford is the No. 4 seed with its ranking of 142, while behind Gardner-Webb is Campbell, who is No. 174 nationally and will be the No. 6 seed in the championship, with Charleston Southern (181) receiving the No. 7 seed. High Point is the No. 8 seed based on its ranking of 185, just ahead of Presbyterian College (187). New Big South member Longwood rounds out the championship field as the No. 10 seed (260).
The Patriot Club is hosting the Big South Men's Golf Championship for the eighth time in nine years, as the course has hosted the event every year since 2008 in addition to 2005 and 2006.
The 2013 Big South Men's Golf Championship begins this weekend with a practice round on Saturday, April 20. The three-day, 54-hole event will be played April 21-23 and is free and open to the public.

The 2013 champion will receive the Big South's automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals.
