Sunday Series Baseball Finale With UNC Asheville Cancelled

SPRINGS - Gardner-Webb's Big South Conference series finale with
UNC Asheville has been cancelled and will not be made up, due to
wet weather.
The Runnin' Bulldogs (22-21-1, 8-9 Big South) split the first two games of the series, winning 5-1 on Saturday behind a sizzling pitching performance from Andrew Barnett and Jeff Howell. Barnett fanned 14 batters through 8.0 innings, and Howell struck out three more in the ninth. Neither man issued a free pass in the game.
Heavy and steady rains in the area are forecast to continue through Sunday and Monday.
Gardner-Webb will host Conference USA member East Carolina on Tuesday at 5:00 PM at John Henry Moss Stadium/Bill Masters Field.
