
GWU's Gamble Ranked in the WIN's 2013-14 Preseason Rankings at 174 Pounds

Newton, Iowa - Gardner-Webb sophomore wrestler Hunter Gamble was ranked 18th overall at 174 pounds in the WIN's 2013-14 Preseason Individual Rankings, which was released on Monday, September 30th.
Gamble posted an overall record of 24-15 and was an automatic National Qualifier having won the Southern Conference Championship at 174 pounds.
The McDonough, Ga. native, who became GWU's first-ever Southern Conference Champion, went on to post an overall record of 1-2 at the 2013 NCAA Division I National Championships as he earned a 5-3 decision over the No. 9 seeded Nathaniel Brown of Lehigh in the first round of the championship bracket.
With that win, Gamble became only the third GWU wrestler in the Runnin' Bulldogs' Division I history, joining Eddie McCray (2007) and Josh Pniewski (2006), to record a win in the Championship Bracket at the NCAA National Championships.
Point totals associated with individual rankings are as followed: 1st - 20 (16 AA points + 4 advancement points); 2nd - 16 (12+4); 3rd - 13.5 (10+3.5); 4th - 12. 5 (9+3.5); 5th - 10 (7+3); 6th - 9 (6+3); 7th - 6.5 (4+2.5); 8th - 5.5 (3+2.5); 9th/12th - 2; 13th/16th - 1.5; 17th-20th - 1.
WIN's individual rankings are subject to change once teams determine where guys are going to be as the 2013-14 season approaches. These rankings do not include freshmen. The source of individual records from 2012-13 is from the NCWA Scorebook (NWCAonline.com).
WIN seeks to subjectively combine both current results with past performance and proven records of consistency to predict those who will most likely place high or win the national tournament.
