BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. --- Gardner-Webb University freshman Austin Trott (Kingsland, Ga.) is ranked 30th at 165 pounds in this week's edition of the Gregg Henry's/WrestlingReport NCAA Division I National Rankings, carrying a six-match winning streak into Wednesday evening's showdown at Davidson.

Trott registered Gardner-Webb's first team points on Monday night against Appalachian State, dominating his match's early stages and finishing off an 11-6 win over Zach Strickland.

With the victory, Trott moved to 19-3 overall on the season and won for the 11th time in 14 dual matches. The redshirt freshman is undefeated in 2014 with a decision against Strickland and a pin of George Mason's Matthew Stull on Jan. 5.

Gardner-Webb wrestles at Davidson on Wednesday night in SoCon action, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
