CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Junior Rokia Sacko picked up two singles wins for the Runnin' Bulldogs at the Carolina ITA Regional event hosted at the Cone-Kinfield Tennis Center, on the campus of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C.

The Runnin' Bulldogs traveled Sacko and fellow teammate senior Yasmin Doost to the event which plays hosts the top collegiate tennis talent featured in the Carolinas.

Sacko competed in the Qualifying Singles Draw picking wins in the Round of 32 defeating Maria Camara from Elon University (6-3, 6-4), and then beat Charlotte's Macy Vonderschmidt (6-1, 6-3) in the Round of 16. Sacko is set to face Winthrop's Monica Aguado in the Quarterfinals at a time to be determined. Sacko also played in the Singles Main Draw where she dropped her first round match to Elixane Lechemia from the University of South Carolina (6-1, 6-1)

Doost squared off in the Singles Main Draw as well losing her first round match (6-3, 6-1) to Clemson University's Beatrice Gumulya. Doost and Sacko also team up to play in the Doubles Main Draw at the event and picked up a Round of 64 win over South Carolina's team of Katie Fosnacht/Alex Martin (8-2), before losing their Round of 32 match (8-2) to the team of Liza Fieldson/Sophie Nelson from North Carolina State University.

The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team will return to action on October 31st- November 2nd at the Wofford Fall Invitational hosted by Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.
