SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Gardner-Webb junior Mary Katherine Donovan finished tied for seventh-place overall, as the Runnin' Bulldogs finished in fifth-place as a team, at the 2014 Terrier Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford College at the par 72, 6012 yards, Country Club of Spartanburg in Spartanburg, S.C.

Gardner-Webb shot rounds of 315 and 327 in the two-round event to end with a team score of 642, +66, finishing in fifth-place overall ahead of USC Upstate and Converse College.

Donovan set the pace for Gardner-Webb carding rounds of 75 and 82 over the 36-hole event to finish with a total score of 157, +13, earning a share of the seventh place spot with three others. Donovan led the Runnin' Bulldogs with 7 birdies at the two-day event holing five birdies, which led all competitors, in her first round and finishing with two birdies in her round Tuesday afternoon.

Finishing just behind Dodson was sophomore Taylor Dodson who shot rounds of 81 & 80 to also claim a Top-25 spot finishing tied for 17th-place overall with a total combined score of 161, +17. Dodson rolled in nine pars in her final round of play birding once to claim the GWU low round of 80 on Tuesday.

Sophomore Courtney Yanch and Junior Tessy Tuschen both finished in a tie for 26th-place overall with combined total scores of 164, +20. Yanch carded rounds of 78 and 86, while Tuschen shot an 81, 83 for the 36-hole event. Sophomore Sarah Bertram rounded out the scoring for Gardner-Webb compiling rounds of 89 and 82 to finish with a total score of 171, +27, for the tournament.

Seminole State took home the team championship, as the Raiders posted rounds of 328 and 294 to finish with the tournament low team score of 622, +46.

Seminole State also took home individual honors at the tournament as Sydney Legacy fired rounds of 76 and 71 to finish with the total score of 147, -1 under par, just one stroke ahead of Winthrop's Jennifer Dilger.

The Gardner-Webb women's golf team will prepare to finish out their fall season as they return to action next at the Winthrop Women's Intercollegiate, November 1-2nd, at the Rock Hill Country Club in Rock Hill, S.C.
