The victory by Gardner-Webb is the first win over Presbyterian since 2011.

Offensively, Arey paced GWU as she fired three shots on the evening, two of which were on goal.

Presbyterian had the slight advantage in shots, as they outshot Gardner-Webb, 9-6, but the Runnin' Bulldogs were able to fire four shots on goal as opposed to just three for the Blue Hoose.

Hooe gave the Runnin' Bulldogs a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute, as she took a pass from Arey and fired it into the top of the net for her eighth goal of the season, which sets a new career high for the junior for most goals in a season.

The Blue Hoose were able to force eight corner kicks in the opening half, but could not get a shot past Chauvin, as Gardner-Webb would take a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

The second half featured more of an offensive attack by the Runnin' Bulldogs as they were able to muster three corner kicks and limited the Blue Hoose to just two.

Gardner- Webb's continued offense attack in the second frame paid off as Arey headed home a cross from Justine Ibarra in the 72nd minute to extend the GWU lead to 2-0.

The Runnin' Bulldogs looked as if they would go on for the 2-0 victory and their fourth shutout of the season, but Louise McGirt scored her seventh goal of the season in the 85th minute to cut the Blue Hoose's defecit to just one.

Gardner-Webb played stout defense for the last five minutes, as it would go on for the 2-1 victory.

Head Coach Mike Varga had these comments after the match, "We didn't play our best match tonight, and PC had a lot to do with that. They are a head working team that made the match very difficult for us. Wins are tough to come by this time of year, and we competed for and found a way to get a much needed win of the road".

The Runnin' Bulldogs return home for its next match tomorrow evening against Brevard College. Kickoff against the Tornadoes is set for 7:00 p.m.
