BOILING SPRINGS --- Gardner-Webb senior Heather Feldman (Eden, N.Y.) has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District III Volleyball Team for the second consecutive season. The Capital One Academic All-District Volleyball teams are voted on by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). District III is made up of Division I programs in North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, with first, second and third-team All-America honorees to be selected later this month.
Feldman is in the midst of another impressive season with the Runnin' Bulldogs, playing in all 106 sets while starting every match and dishing out 9.3 assists per set. The senior setter carries a perfect 4.0 grade point average in music, and has helped Gardner-Webb to a 5-5 record in Big South Conference play so far this season.
A native of Eden, N.Y., Feldman has excelled in all phases of the game this fall, needing 15 assists to surpass 1,000 for the year, while also averaging nearly one kill per set and attacking at a .327 clip. The 5-10 setter currently ranks second on the team in service aces and third in digs per set while recording 38 blocks this season.
