CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Lauren Oglesby placed first in the 500 free (5:09.11) as she led the Gardner-Webb University swim team on Friday evening at the Wingate Fall Frenzy hosted by Wingate University.

For a second straight weekend, the Runnin' Bulldogs swim team competed in Charlotte, as last weekend, the men's team competed in a dual meet against Queens University.

Gardner-Webb started tonight's meet off strong, as the Runnin' Bulldogs took second (1:37.41) and third (1:40.04) in the 200 free relay. Wingate University just touched out GWU in the first event of the meet, as they finished just .21 ahead of the Runnin' Bulldogs.

In the first men's event of the meet, the 200 free relay, Gardner-Webb once again took second (1:26.60) and third (1:27.22), while Wingate took the top spot with a time of 1:25.23.

The Runnin' Bulldogs put together strong swims in the third event of the meet, as London Schumacher and Adel Kiss swam to second and third place finishes in the 200 IM.

Oglesby put together one of the best swims of the evening for GWU, as she placed first in the 500 free with a time of 5:09.11.

Toth had two more impressive swims on the evening, as she took second in the 200 back and swam leadoff in the 400 medley relay that also finished in second place. The 200 backstroke was one of the best swims so far this season by the freshman, as she entered the event with a seed time of 2:15.00 and improved her time by nearly eight seconds (2:07.32).

Gardner-Webb will return to action on Nov. 21 when it travels to Charlotte, N.C. to compete in the three-day Fall Frenzy Invitational.
