Men's Cross Country Runs Final Race Before NCAA Regionals

CARY, N.C.- Christopher Lile ran to a 31st place finish as he paced the Gardner-Webb men's cross country team at the Three Stripe Invitational hosted by NC State on Saturday morning.

This was the last final event of the season for the Runnin' Bulldogs before it heads to the NCAA Cross Country Southeast Regional next Friday.

Just a freshman, Lile has emerged as one of the top runners for the Runnin' Bulldogs, as he's led GWU in every race except one this season. In this morning's race, Lile finished with a season-best 5K time of 17:07.34, which was nearly 12 seconds better than the previous top mark of 17:19.9.

Marcquel Woodard, Mckinley Gray, James Haynes, and Aaron Cronk also ran for GWU, finishing in 33rd, 34th, 35th, and 37th respectively.

The Runnin' Bulldogs will return to the course next week, when they compete at the NCAA Cross Country Southeast regional on Friday at the University of Louisville
