December 15, 2014 | Men's Basketball
CHARLOTTE --- Gardner-Webb junior Jerome Hill (Adel, Ga.) received his second weekly honor of the day this afternoon, earning the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Basketball Player of the Week after being named the College Sports Madness Big South Player of the Week earlier Monday.
A native of Adel, Ga., Hill nabs his first Big South weekly honor of the season and his third overall, previously being named the College Sports Madness Big South Player of the Week twice, including this week's. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound forward led the Runnin' Bulldogs to their third straight win on Saturday, leading all scorers with 28 points on 10-of-21 shooting in Gardner-Webb's 74-68 victory over Furman.
Hill added career-highs of 19 rebounds and four blocks, while recording his team-leading fourth double-double of the season. The two-time College Sports Madness Player of the Week converted a key three-point play late in the second half, capping a 9-3 run that put the game out of reach. Hill currently leads the Runnin' Bulldogs in both scoring (18.9) and rebounding (9.2) this season.
Gardner-Webb is back in action on Wednesday in Jacksonville, Fla., taking on Jacksonville University at 7:00 pm.
