Al-Gashamy Nets Second Straight NCCSIA All-State Honors

HIGH POINT, N.C. --- Gardner-Webb junior Ali Al-Gashamy (Kristiansand, Norway) added to his trophy case with another individual honor Monday, earning North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association All-State Second Team recognition after leading the Runnin' Bulldogs in nearly every offensive category this season.
This is the second consecutive season Al-Gashamy has earned All-State honors, having garnered first-team recognition last fall. A native of Kristiansand, Norway, Al-Gashamy led the Runnin' Bulldogs with seven goals, six assists and 20 points this season, running his career totals to 11 goals, 13 assists and 35 points over the last two seasons.
The junior forward tallied a season-high four points twice this season, recording one goal and two assists against Brevard and Presbyterian.
Gardner-Webb is expected to return 18 letter-winners from this year's squad, including rising seniors Arjun Jung (London, England), Nathan Rose (Bristol, England), Dustin Peyton (Greensboro, N.C.), Craig Swaby (Ware, England), Bryce Wells (Marietta, Ga.), Nathan Cook (Casar, N.C.) and Al-Gashamy.
