
Women's Basketball Hosts Radford Tuesday In Big South Conference Home Opener

Gardner-Webb returns to action on Tuesday evening when it hosts Radford for its Big South Conference home opener at 7:00 p.m. in Paul Porter Arena. Tuesday's matchup will be streamed live via the Big South Network, and also marks just the second home game for the Runnin' Bulldogs in the month of December.

Last Time Out
The Runnin' Bulldogs are coming off a a tough 63-59 loss at Longwood on Sunday. grabbing 18 misses on the offensive end, and turned the offensive rebounds into 10 second chance points compared to just eight for Longwood. GWU attempted 25 shots at the free-throw line but struggled to convert hitting only 10 of its shots. The Runnin' Bulldogs outscored Longwood 40-22 in points in the paint, but it was the outside shooting for Longwood that helped them to the victory, hitting 9 of 21 attempts from long distance compared to just one for Gardner-Webb.
Series Notes
This is the 16th meeting between GWU and Radford since Gardner-Webb transitioned to the Division I level in the 2000-01 season. Radford leads the series series is tied 8-7, and both team split the two meetings last season. Gardner-Webb won 71-57 at Paul Porter Arena, and lost a nailbiter 55-53 at Radford.
Notes
The Runnin' Bulldogs hold a 52-55 record as a member of the Big South Conference. Gardner-Webb owns a 13-7 record against UNC Asheville, which is the most victories the Runnin' Bulldogs own over a member of the Big South Conference.
This will be the second consecutive year that Gardner-Webb will host Radford for the conference home opener. Rick Reeves is 8-2 in Big South home openers during his tenure as head coach of GWU.
Gardner-Webb has the unique distinction of having two twins on the team this season. Assistant coach Dominique Hudson has an identical twin sister, Monique who is a former player for the Runnin' Bulldogs, and freshman Celia Tibbs has a twin brother, Will, who is a freshman at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
