Gardner-Webb got off to a sluggish start in the first half, surrendering an early 17-7 lead after Toccoa Falls answered with a 17-5 run, as the Screaming Eagles opened a narrow 24-22 advantage following back-to-back threes from Iverson and Sullivan.

The Runnin' Bulldogs fought back with a 17-5 surge of their own, reclaiming the lead at 39-29 on a fast-break lay-in by Hill off a nifty feed from Davis with 3:32 left in the half. Toccoa Falls would close out the half with a 6-3 spurt to trim the margin to 42-35 heading into the break.

Gardner-Webb came out firing in the second half, opening the period with a 19-7 run to widen the gap to 61-42 on a Davis bomb with 16:13 left. The Runnin' Bulldogs would put the throttle down over the next 10 minutes, pushing the lead to 85-50 with a 24-4 surge that was capped by six straight treys by Poston, the last of which coming with 6:17 to play.

Poston and the Runnin' Bulldogs closed out the win from there, finishing with a 14-9 run over the final five minutes to record their largest margin of victory this season.
