Henderson (New Glasgow, Nova Scotia) was named Big South Conference Women's Golfer of the Week and Dodson (Aiken, S.C.) was named Freshman of the Week for their efforts at the 2014 Country Club of Spartanburg Spring Invitational.
Henderson fired a two-day score of 149 to capture her first career college tournament title. It was the second top-10 finish of her career, following a 9th-place finish at the Winthrop Intercollegiate to wrap up the 2013 fall season. The redshirt freshman just missed tying her career-low round on each day in Spartanburg, shooting 74 on Monday and following with a 75 on Tuesday to win medalist honors by one stroke.
Her two-day score of 149 marks the best tournament of her career to date.
Dodson continued to build on a strong early resume, finishing just one stroke behind Henderson in Spartanburg with a two-day 150. Her 2nd-place finish was her second in a row and marked the fourth top-5 finish of her college career.
Dodson shot a 74 on Monday and followed with a 76 on Tuesday.
The finishes by Henderson and Dodson helped Gardner-Webb take second as a team at the Spartanburg event, which was hosted by Wofford College.
