GWU Women Tabbed Seventh, Men Picked Fifth in Big South Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Polls

Charlotte, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) - Gardner-Webb's women's and men's track & field teams have been picked to finish 7th and 5th, respectively, in the Big South's 2014 Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Polls, the League announced today.
Coming off a successful Indoor season, highlighted by sending a student athlete (men's thrower Alex Young) to NCAA Championships for the first time since 2008, GWU looks to continue to excel heading into the 2014 Outdoor season.
The Runnin' Bulldog women, who finished in 7th place in the Big South team standings at 2014 BSC Indoor Championships, were picked to duplicate that finish in the preseason voting for the Outdoor season.
GWU picked up 40 points, the seventh most among Big South women's teams, in the poll. The Runnin' Bulldogs received 20 seventh place votes.
Just as on the women's side, the Runnin' Bulldog men were tabbed to finish the Outdoor season in the same spot where they finished at 2014 Big South Indoor Track & Field Championships.
GWU received 49 points to land in a tie with Charleston Southern for the fifth spot in the Preseason Poll. The Runnin' Bulldogs and Bucs are followed closely by VMI (47 points), picked to finish seventh in the Big South Outdoor season.
