CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Senior center Catrina
Green (Greensboro, N.C.) recorded a pair of double-doubles to
lead the Runnin' Bulldogs to wins over Coastal Carolina and
Charleston Southern, earning Big South Conference Women's
Basketball Choice Hotels Player of the Week honors for the third
time this season.
Green put together one of her best weeks of the season, carrying
Gardner-Webb (16-13, 11-9 BSC) to two bounce-back victories over
Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern and a first-round bye in
this week's Big South Tournament.
The senior center averaged 19.5 points and 13 rebounds in the
two games, kicking off the week with 15 points and 12 rebounds
against Coastal Carolina to record her 14th double-double of the
season.
Green capped her career in Paul Porter Arena with a bang on
Saturday, pouring in a career-high 24 points while grabbing 14
rebounds to help the Runnin' Bulldogs secure the fifth seed in the
Big South Tournament with a 74-62 win over Charleston Southern.
With her performance Saturday, Green also became the first player
in the school's Division I era to record 1,000 points and 1,000
rebounds in her career.
