GWU (9-8, 2-4 Big South) got off to a great start, winning the opening doubles point thanks to a clincher from the freshman combo of Teodora Stanciu and Mary Walker Mixon. The pair of Runnin' Bulldog rookies knocked off the Lancers' Mason Thomas / Bethany Law tandem, 8-6, at No. 3 doubles.
Gardner-Webb's Jenny Lunde / Rokia Sacko pairing cruised to an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles over Paloma Alatorre / Anna Palak. Longwood won at No. 1 doubles, 8-6, as Malin Allgurin / Sarah Moomau outlasted Yasmin Doost / Ronia Hutterli.
