
Men's Golf Takes Sixth At Davidson Invitational

N.C. - Gardner-Webb took sixth at the two-day, 2014 Davidson
College Invitational, overcoming wet conditions to finish seven
strokes ahead of Marshall with a team score of 619.
The event was played at River Run Country Club, with 14 teams participating.
Gardner-Webb picked up two top-20 finishes, with Vincent Blanchette (76-75-151) finishing in a tie for 12th individually and Blake Maum (76-77-153) finishing tied for 16th. Steve Jones (75-80-155, T-22nd), Clement Kurniawan (80-80-160 T-38th) and Matthew Yelverton (82-81-163, T-47th) rounded out the cards for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
Coach Tee Burton's squad finished seven strokes out of third place, just behind Radford, Davidson and Wofford.
Tennessee (293-294-587) won the event, with Kent State (304-294-598) finishing second.
