Austin Trott Earns SoCon All-Freshman Honors

SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- Redshirt freshman Austin Trott (Kingsland, Ga.) has earned Southern Conference postseason honors for the first time in his career, claiming a spot on the Southern Conference all-Freshman Team with a 24-6 regular season, announced SoCon officials Wednesday.
Trott enjoyed a strong regular season for the Runnin' Bulldogs, compiling a 16-8 dual record while pinning eight opponents. The Kingsland, Ga. native was ranked as high as 17th in the InterMat Wrestling rankings at 165 pounds this season, while stringing together an individual 11-match winning streak earlier this spring.
The 6-1 redshirt freshman posted an even 3-3 record in Southern Conference action this season, including wins against VMI's Mark Darr, Appalachian State's Zach Strickland and Davidson's Nathaniel Powers.
