CONWAY,
S.C. - Jerome
Hill landed a spot on the 2014 VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South
Conference All-Tournament Team, as selected by media members
following Sunday's title game.

per game for Gardner-Webb (18-15) at the event, and shot a strong
57.1 percent from the floor in two games (12-of-21).
The
6-foot-5, 215-pound forward had 12 points and 16 rebounds in the
opening win over Longwood, establishing a new tournament record for
rebounds in a first-round game. He followed with 22 points and 16
more rebounds in the quarterfinals vs. VMI.
Coastal
Carolina won the tournament title on Sunday and Chanticleers' guard
Warren Gillis was named to the All-Tournament Team as its MVP. Josh
Cameron (Coastal Carolina), Keon Moore (Winthrop), D.J. Cunningham
(UNC Asheville) and Hill (Gardner-Webb) rounded out the
team.
The
performance in the tournament for Hill capped a strong end of the
season. Over Gardner-Webb's last 14 games he averaged a team-high
17.6 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. He wound up the team's
leading scorer (14.4 ppg) and rebounder (8.5 rpg) in his first full
season as a starter.
Hill
is part of a strong core that will return next season for head
coach Tim
Craft. Gardner-Webb welcomes back four of its top five scorers,
including Hill, rising seniors Donta
Harper (10.1 ppg) and Tyler
Strange (9.5 ppg) and All-Freshman Team forward/center Tyrell
Nelson (8.9 ppg).
Gardner-Webb
will also get a boost from transfer wing Adonis
Burbage, who sat out the 2013-2014 season after averaging 10.3
points per game as a sophomore at Central Connecticut
State.
Burbage,
an outstanding shooter, had one of his best games in an upset of
2013 Sweet 16 participant LaSalle during his final season at CCSU,
scoring 21 points on 5-of-6 shooting from long range in that
win.
Gardner-Webb
posted its first back-to-back seasons with at least 18 wins since
moving to NCAA Division I in 2000-2001. The Runnin' Bulldogs have
39 combined wins over the past two seasons, the top two-year mark
since the move up.
