Dodson also shot a 72 in her first collegiate round, opening her career at the Golfweek Program Challenge in September.
Teammate Mary Katherine Donovan earned a spot on the Big South's All-Academic Team Friday.
Donovan (Hampstead, N.C. / Topsail HS) carries a strong 3.66 cumulative grade point average in her major of biology, and has been solid on the links as well during her sophomore season.
She posted a top finish of ninth at the 2013 Myrtle Beach National Intercollegiate tournament and fired a low round of 72 at the UNC Greensboro Starmount Fall Classic in September. She has three career top-10 finishes to her credit, and has finished in the top-20 twice this spring.
Gardner-Webb opens play at the 2014 Big South Conference Women's Golf Championship presented by Musco Lighting on Sunday, April 13. The Runnin' Bulldogs are seeded sixth, and will tee off in the second group with #4 Winthrop and #5 Longwood (8:50-9:30 am).
The 2014 Tournament will be hosted for the eighth time by the Patriot Club in Ninety Six, S.C., and is hosted this season by Charleston Southern.
