
Runnin' Bulldogs Sit Eighth After First Round At Big South Championships

Byles paced Gardner-Webb's effort on the first day of the 2014
Big South Conference Men's Golf Championships as the Runnin'
Bulldogs placed eighth in the opening round.
Byles carded a 77 and enters Tuesday's second round tied for 31st individually. He finished just one stroke in front of the trio of Blake Maum, Vincent Blanchette and Clement Kurniawan - who all tied for 36th on the day. Matthew Yelverton (81) rounded out the scoring for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
The Patriot at Grand Harbour played at an average round of 75.30 on Monday.
Coastal Carolina (285), Charleston Southern (286), Winthrop (288) and top-seed Liberty (290) were all tightly packed at the top of the team standings.
Round two will begin Tuesday morning.
