Honors Continue For Gardner-Webb's Matt Fraudin

Fraudin (Upper St. Clair, Pa. / Upper St. Clair) fired a one-hit, complete-game shutout against hot-hitting William & Mary on May 8 to help Gardner-Webb to a 2-0 win.
The 6-foot-5, 210-pounder struck out 11 batters and walked just one. He saw his bid for a perfect game broken up with one out in the seventh, when Nick Thompson collected a single. Fraudin retired the first 19 men he faced Thursday, including 10 via strikeout.
It was the second time this season that Gardner-Webb had posted a one-hit shutout. Six GWU pitchers combined to do so against Division II Brevard in April.
Fraudin has gone the distance three times this season, and has pitched at least eight innings in six different starts in 2014.
