Runnin' Bulldogs Win Pair of Singles and Doubles Matches at Seahawk Invitational

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb men's tennis team won two singles and two doubles matches this weekend at the 2014 UNC Wilmington Fall Seahawk Invitational held in Wilimington, N.C on September 12-14th.
Along with GWU the competitors in this weekends Invitational were Campbell, North Carolina Central, Liberty, Georgia Southerm, Old Dominion, and the host, UNC Wilmington.
Due to inclement weather in the Wilmington area this weekends Invitational was filled with multiple delays and a few matches that ended up not being played.
Junior Benjamin Kaszas was not phased by the weather though and was able to secure a Runnin' Bulldogs singles victory. Bouncing back from an early 6-4, 2-6, 3-6 Flight A loss to Danii Gerasimov of North Carolina Central, Kaszas was able to earn a solid win over fellow Big South competitor Nicolas Rakitin from Campbell in a 6-3, 7-6 match.
Kaszas also teamed up with freshman Yaroslav Prostakov to pick up a doubles win over Georgia Southern's Ristomatti Lanne and Kyle Hoffman winning 8-7(6) in a Flight A doubles match.
Runnin' Bulldogs freshman Michael Perry, appearing in his first ever collegiate match, won his first round Flight C singles match over Tamina Kienka from North Carolina Central in a comfortable manner beating Kienka 6-3, 6-4.
Perry and red-shirt freshman Paul Hogan rounded out Gardner-Webb's winning ways this weekend in the Flight B doubles by beating Campbell's Nicolas Rakitin and Lukas Schaefer in an 8-7(5) match.
Gardner-Webb men's tennis will return to action this coming weekend when they will travel to Charlotte, N.C. to particpate in the Charlotte Fall Tournament September 19-21st.
