Chauvin And Hooe Earn Player Of The Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Gardner-Webb goalkeeper Krista Chauvin (Seekonk, Mass. / UMass Dartmouth) and forward Shelby Hooe (Mechanicsville, Va. / Hanover H.S.) have been named Big South Conference Players of the Week announced the conference office Monday.
Chauvin was named defender of the week, while Hooe was named attacking player of the week, for the games played during September 8-14.
This is the first player of the week award for both Chauvin and Hooe.
Chauvin, started both games for the Runnin' Bulldogs last week where she posted a 2-0 record and made three saves and did not allow a goal in 104:49 of action
Chauvin has been impressive early on for the Runnin' Bulldogs, as she ranks sixth in the conference in GAA (1.23) and is seventh in saves (17).
Hooe continued her great offensive play last week for Gardner-Webb, as she netted two goals, including the game-winner in the 3-1 victory over VMI, and had a game-high four shots and three shots on goal in the 1-0 double-overtime victory over USC Upstate on Sunday.
Hooe has continued to be an offensive forcefor the Runnin' Bulldogs early on, as she is second in points (12) and is tied for second in the conference in goals (5).
Gardner-Webb returns to action on Friday (Sept. 19) when they travel to face Elon University at 7:00 p.m.
