Kennedy Named Big South Men's Golf Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gardner-Webb's Jake Kennedy was named the Big South Conference Men's Golf Freshman of the week Thursday, as selected by the conference office.
Kennedy led the Runnin' Bulldogs with a 23rd-place finish, in just his second collegiate event, at the 2014 Tar Hell Intercollegiate. Kennedy carded rounds of 70, 73 and 74 to finish the Intercollegiate with a combined total score of 271, +1, which helped Gardner-Webb place 14th overall at the three-day event.
This weekly conference award was the first in Kennedy's career.
The Gardner-Webb Men's golf team will return to action in a month, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will participate in the Donald Ross Intercollegiate at Mimosa Hill Country Club in Morganton, N.C. on October 13-14th.
