Men's Tennis Continues Fall Season at Charlotte Tournament

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb Men's tennis team will return to action this weekend, as they travel to Charlotte, N.C. to take part in the 49ers Invitational, hosted by Charlotte at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex September 19-21st.
Featured in this weekends 49ers Invitational are Elon, Richmond, Gardner-Webb and host Charlotte. The four teams will be competing in a round-robin flight tournament with 8 singles flights and 4 doubles flights, with each team playing each other in singles and doubles one time over the three-day event.
Gardner-Webb will look to build on their young fall season this weekend after having four players compete in last week's Seahawks Invitational in Wilmington, N.C.
"I am really looking forward to the test this Invitational will bring," commented head coach Mike Griffith. "With the way this tournament is structured it will give us a great look as a team for the upcoming spring season. The level intensity and competition that this Invitational will also have is something I'm really looking forward to especially for the new freshman traveling this weekend."
The Runnin' Bulldogs will start the Invitational off by playing a doubles matches against Elon at 3:00 P.M. tomorrow, followed by singles matches against the Phoenix scheduled to start at 4:30 P.M.
